Cloud Computing

ASUnix provides support for a number of technologies that fall under Cloud Computing, including a number of Amazon's Web Services.

Clusters

Tufts maintains a high performance Linux research cluster and ASUnix can provide supplementary cluster support to researchers.

Cygwin

Cygwin is a UNIX-like environment and command line interface for Windows operating systems. It allows users to run certain linux programs to run on top of the Windows environment, including SSH and the X windowing system.

Databases

ASUnix provides MySQL and PostgreSQL database hosting for members of the Arts, Science and Engineering community. If you need access to another database system, fill out the Database Request Form and we will attempt to accommodate your request.

Distributed Computing

ASUnix provides support for distributed and grid computing through frameworks such as Condor and Boinc.

General Purpose GPU Computing

By utilizing consumer GPUs, workstations can be turned into massively parallel 'Desktop Supercomputers'. ASUnix supports the entire General Purpose GPU computing development chain from hardware support, management and programming.

Monitoring

We can remotely monitor your system, the services it provides and alert you when something goes wrong.

Shell Access

ITS provided a shell service for users in ASE who need access to a full linux desktop but do not have the need or resources for their own dedicated virtual on the desktop, a separate linux workstation or server.

Supported software development tools and programming languages.

Virtualization

Virtualization provides a way for desktops and servers to run other operating systems at the same time. Safely and Securely, for testing, software development or increased system utilization.
