Tufts maintains a high performance Linux research cluster and ASUnix can provide supplementary cluster support to researchers.
UIT ( University Information Technology ) hosts a high performance Linux research cluster for engineering, visualization and computational biology, among other topics. The research cluster maintains 56 IBM Linux systems with access to 468 compute nodes. The cluster runs Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and is managed by LSF ( Load Sharing Facility ), a cluster batch scheduler.
While the cluster is maintained by UIT, ASUnix can provide software support for users who require access to the cluster. Users and researchers may be unfamiliar with the tools associated with the research cluster or may have difficulty accessing the cluster remotely. ASUnix can assist researchers in setting up and maintaining research software or development environments.
